Yahallo! Today, I would like to introduce to you to Defining Delight’s “Quest to the Best”, a saga of solving the greatest mysteries of…everything. (That killed the moment.)
Ben & Jerry and Häagen-Dazs are the biggest ice cream brands all over the world. Who doesn’t know Ben & Jerry? And who doesn’t know Häagen-Dazs? If you don’t, you’ve probably been living under a rock.
Luckily, I have managed to find BOTH (I know, it’s a miracle.) Ben & Jerry’s and Häagen-Dazs’ Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream. You do not know how hard it is to be able to find two of the same flavors of these brands at the same time in the Philippines. Thanks to the members-only premium grocery S&R, we can enjoy some of the finest ice creams all over the world.

Their best seller Chunky Monkey and Fudge Brownie were available too. 🙂 I love them both.
Häagen Dazs’ Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream 414ml @P349.75
Can you find the chocolate chip cookie dough? It’s on the left on the 2nd picture. It only had one tower-thing. (No, I did not cut it from the picture.)

Packaging wise, they both win.
Looking at the picture, it Ben & Jerry’s seems to be more airy, while Häagen-Dazs’ looks more dense and compact; like gelato.
Häagen Dazs’ had a creamy, smooth ice cream that blended beautifully with the cookie dough. It also had lots of little chocolate chunks which added some texture to the premium ice cream. In contrast, Ben & Jerry’s was overloaded with cookie dough. As if you were actually eating a chocolate chip cookie! It had some air bubbles (which is completely normal) making it melt faster, but that’s not really a problem since you will finish it. Fast.
Both really good ice creams. I would buy both of them. But we can’t do that. I’d like to say Häagen Dazs’ was better. The taste of the ice cream was perfect and it just screamed, quality. But they should really add more cookie dough. If you know me, you’d know that I love chocolate chip cookies. I would eat 18 cookies a day. If you were planning to just eat the whole pint because…you feel like it or something, get Ben & Jerry’s. It has more, and it’s cheaper. But still really good. Or if you just love the taste of cookies so much, you should get it too, because it really tasted like a cookie. A good cookie.
You are getting what you are paying for. Häagen Dazs wins.
But I still LOVE both. It’s not fun picking one. T_T

Hi, happy to see that someone else appreciate these little things. However I think that the best one on this fight 🙂 is Ben & Jerry’s. Don’t get me wrong I am a big fan of Häagen Dazs’. To me the thing that makes the difference is that the cookie dough is really good in B&J, it tastes amazing. And in HD is quite mixed. One vote for B&J!!
Hi Raquel! Yes, it was a very, very, close fight. Ben & Jerry’s definitely tasted more like cooking dough but Haagen Dazs was more of the luxurious, silky flavor type. If you’re going for the “YES COOKIE DOUGH” feeling, Ben & Jerry’s is the way to go. 🙂 Thanks for reading! ❤
I think the cookie dough in th HD tastes better. The nice thing with the HD is a little goes a long way, usually eat half as much to before I’m satisfied.
